Leben mit einem Denkmal – Synagogengeschichten
The film “Leben mit einem Denkmal – Synagogengeschichten” (“Life with a monument – synagogues stories”), which has been broadcasted in the series “Unter unserem Himmel” on Bayerischer Rundfunk (Bavarian Broadcasting) on 1st of March 2020 at 7:15 pm and which can be watched now in the BR media centre, also features the former synagogue Muehlhausen. The author Dr. Sybille Krafft has tracked down buildings in Bavaria which were desecrated during the 1938 November Pogrom but not destroyed completely and which are unoccupied and decaying for decades. Some are used quite secularly as storage rooms and garages. But Dr. Sybille Krafft has also discovered former synagogues which were carefully restored by private persons and today function as residential buildings. The different examples demonstrate how extensive and varied Jewish life in Bavaria had been.
We are very happy that an renowned broadcasting institution like the Bayerischer Rundfunk has taken notice of us and that we were able to become part of a quality documentation, which was broadcasted on prime time.
